Boston Dynamics has released another amazing robot video that is certain to go viral.  Their PETMAN prototype has just been demonstrated performing some very life-like movements while wearing chemical protection clothing and a gas mask.
Boston Dynamics develops amazing robots, and consistently shows off incredible videos of them. In the ramp up to the DARPA Grand Robotics Challenge, the company has just released video of their PETMAN prototype performing some incredibly human-like movements.

A cousin to ATLAS, PETMAN is an anthropomorphic robot that is said to be designed for testing chemical protection clothing (when a simple mannequin won't do, turn to DARPA).

Natural agile movement is essential for PETMAN to simulate how a soldier stresses protective clothing under realistic conditions. To this end, the video demonstrates how the humanoid robot looks fully decked out in camouflage and gas mask.

Boston Dynamics' PETMAN is starting to look incredibly close to the initial concept for the robot

PETMAN has sensors embedded in its skin that detect any chemicals leaking through the suit. The skin also maintains a micro-climate inside the clothing by sweating and regulating temperature.
