| Boston Dynamics has released another amazing robot video that is certain to go viral. Their PETMAN prototype has just been demonstrated performing some very life-like movements while wearing chemical protection clothing and a gas mask. |
A cousin to ATLAS, PETMAN is an anthropomorphic robot that is said to be designed for testing chemical protection clothing (when a simple mannequin won't do, turn to DARPA).
Natural agile movement is essential for PETMAN to simulate how a soldier stresses protective clothing under realistic conditions. To this end, the video demonstrates how the humanoid robot looks fully decked out in camouflage and gas mask.

PETMAN has sensors embedded in its skin that detect any chemicals leaking through the suit. The skin also maintains a micro-climate inside the clothing by sweating and regulating temperature.
