Microsoft has announced that the Surface Pro will soon be over. The company said that the Windows 8 Pro version of its tablet will go on sale in the U.S. and Canada on February 9th, at a starting price of $899.

Surface with Windows 8 Pro is a 64-bit tablet PC that combines beauty, power and mobility. Available with up to 128 GB1 of storage and powered by an Intel Core i5 processor, Surface with Windows 8 Pro is a powerful tablet device. Weighing under 2 lbs. and only 13.5 mm thin, it may fill the need for some that the lower-powered Surface RT did not.

The Surface Pro’s debut comes about three months after the release of the Surface RT, the consumer version of the device, which is thought not to be selling as well as Microsoft had hoped.
