Filmmakers Samuel Jorgenson, and Jeremy Pronk, along with writer Ian Fried are turning to Kickstarter to fund the last bit of their short sci-fi movie, Singularity. The film tells the story of a group of Delta force soldiers who are ambushed by androids as they attempt to rescue the US president.
Singularity is a new science fiction action short film set in the near future about a civil war between humans and sentient androids. The film tells the story of a group of Delta force soldiers who are ambushed by androids as they attempt to rescue the US president.

The ultimate goal is to produce a kick-ass sci-fi action film in the vein of The Terminator and Aliens. This is a big ambitious film. It’s action packed - the bar has been set high for an independent short film.  To this end, the producers have turned to crowd funding to complete their project.

The team has a modest fund-raising goal of $7000 to move ahead and finish the film. It will allow them two days on set and let them purchase film, processing and other movie-making necessities like catering.

If they manage to exceed the goal the producers will use the funding to get more time on location and then to make big improvements in post - film scanning / digital intermediate, VFX, music and sound mix/foley.

Singularity- The Short Film

Say the producers on Kickstarter:
We have been working really hard on the movie and currently have a fine cut. However the movie isn’t finished and we need your help! We are looking for funds to help with some pickups and reshooting a key sequence in the film, the last stand battle. We could go ahead and complete with what we have but we really want to make this short as amazing as possible. So we are reaching out to the Kickstarter community for help to complete the film to a level that everyone will be proud off.
The film is being shot on anamorphic 35mm film. The producers, Samuel Jorgensen and Jeremy Pronk think this gives the best aesthetic, something that isn’t attainable yet with digital photography. The idea is to create a unique vision by combining old school filmmaking with cutting edge digital techniques.

Based on the trailer, it looks like they are pulling it off.  To help finish this movie, visit the Singularity -The Short Film Kickstarter page before December 24th.
