Two Kickstarter Projects Exceed One Million Dollars in Funding

On February 9th, after not having a single million dollar project in Kickstarter's first two-plus years, there are suddenly two within four hours of each other.  This represents a new milestone for crowd funding.

The Elevation Dock became the first project to crack the $1M funding barrier. Just a few hours after that historic occasion, Double Fine Adventure sprinted past the $1M mark within one day of the project’s launch. As Scott Wilson noted, “Both employed new techniques to achieve new levels in crowd funding and foster more excitement around the platform.”
