At the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas Dow Corning and Perceptive Pixel teamed up to create an 82" touch display. This prototype device represents the largest touch display to feature Corning Gorilla Glass, adding Corning's thin, visually stunning and durable glass to the world's largest projected capacitive (pro-cap) flat-panel display technology.
Perceptive Pixel's 82-inch pro-cap flat-panel LCD display is the largest in the company's array of true multi-touch solutions used by professionals across many industries including broadcast, defense and intelligence, energy, oil and gas, and digital content creation. The Perceptive Pixel 82-inch display features unlimited touch points and a remarkably slim form factor measuring just six inches in depth. It is optically bonded for ultra-low parallax, providing the most precise touch experience possible. By integrating Corning Gorilla Glass, Perceptive Pixel opens up new possibilities for organizations to use its 82-inch multi-touch display in a horizontal orientation where there is a greater risk of impact damage.
Working on the 'world's largest piece of Gorilla Glass,' Jeff Han shows off the 82" Perceptive Pixel interface. A key element of the new design is the use of pen and finger interactions.
