Tempo AI Calendar App

 Artificial Intelligence
Tempo AI, a startup spun out of Silicon Valley’s SRI International research center where Siri was developed, recently launched Tempo, a Smart Calendar on the iPhone.
A new app called Tempo, created by the same people at SRI who made Siri, is giving your calendar artificial intelligence so that your hectic schedule can become a little bit more manageable.

Released this week, the iOS app uses similar technology as Siri to gather and organize information from various sources and bring it all into your calendar.

If you have a meeting with Sunesh on Wednesday, the app will bring in all contacts for the meeting, driving directions to the location complete with driving time and suggested parking spaces. Moreover, say you need to review some emails between you and Sunesh before said meeting. Tempo will also bring in emails it deems relevant, so that they are all accessible from within calendar.

“When people think of a calendar, they think of scheduling. But that’s not the mobile first experience,” Tempo co-founder Raj Singh told Wired. “That’s on the desktop. On the phone, it’s look at the meeting and take action.

The key to the app is the fact that everything is contained within it. Normally, you could do all of the above with the regular calendar app, Maps, email and Safari but now, it is all organized for you in one place. By syncing various apps into Tempo, it streamlines and maximizes the potential of your schedule.

AI for Smartphone

Bringing Tempo to your busy day saves you time and eliminates the hassles that can come with preparing for your next meeting. With just one tap, you can:

• -Send a pre-populated “running late” email or text
• -Dial into conference calls – Tempo handles the passcode
• -Get directions, parking and estimated driving time
• -Review emails that pertain to the meeting
• -Open related documents
• -Quickly reach attendees via phone, email or text
• -Find the exact location even if you don’t have the address
•- Browse attendees’ LinkedIn profiles
• -Connect to Foursquare and Yelp
• -Get estimated driving time
• -Wish your friends happy birthday on Facebook
• -Know your flight status
• -Use Siri to create your next calendar event or meeting
