Singularity Summit 2012

Singularity Summit 2012
The Singularity Summit is considered one of the leading academic forums for discussions on the Technological Singularity, which is the hypothetical creation of smarter-than-human intelligence. It will be held in San Francisco from October 13 to 14.
The annual Singularity Summit will take place this weekend (October 13-14) in San Francisco for discussions on the most revolutionary technological advancements on the horizon.

The annual conference was founded in 2006 by Ray Kurzweil, Peter Thiel, and the Singularity Institute as the first academic symposium for dialogue on the Technological Singularity.

This year's lineup  of speakers features a diverse range, from science fiction author Vernor Vinge to autism awareness advocate Temple Grandin.

Other speakers include futurist and inventor Ray Kurzweil, neuroscientist Steven Pinker, the Nobel Prize winning economist Daniel Kahneman, science writer Carl Zimmer, genomics pioneer Linda Avey, and Google Director of Research Peter Norvig.
A full list of this year's speakers is available from the Singularity Summit blog, or our post.

Stay tuned for more information and video to come from the conference.
