A strong proponent for US immigration reform, Wadhwa in particular has championed entrepreneurial immigration and the creation of a Startup Visa. Wadhwa’s research on American competitive advantages has focused on entrepreneurship, skilled immigration, and university-research commercialization. The work has revealed key insights into the age, education background, and motivation of tech entrepreneurs, and documented that more than one in four U.S. technology startups from 1995 to 2005 was founded by an immigrant.
In February 2012, he was one of the six "2012 Outstanding American by Choice" recipients, a distinction awarded by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

thought/expression
• Create mentor networks.
• Bring together entrepreneurs and connect networks.
• Provide global business connections for local
entrepreneurs
