Sway Motorsports, is the spare time project of IDEO toy-designer and Rhode Island School of Design alumnus, Joe Wilcox. Prior to his current stint at IDEO, Wilcox worked at NASA's Johnson Space Center and MIT on various space-oriented projects.

Sway allows users to lean into turns much like a motorcycle, but without the fear of falling over. This patented linkage makes for a unique and incredible riding experience, where the safety of a trike is blended with the thrill of riding a motorcycle.

The patented linkage makes for a fun and exciting riding experience, where the safety of a trike is blended with the thrill of riding a motorcycle.
The scooter is powered by a 60v Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) battery Pack driving a 3000w Hub Motor on 11" wheel. 40mph (64.37 km/h) is the specified top speed.  According to Sway, the battery pack is good for 30+ miles (48.28 km).

The company promises the scooter is intuitive and safely operable even on snow, mud and ice.  According to their website,  Sway opens up the world of cycling to riders who might not otherwise be comfortable on a motorcycle or scooter.

Sway is not yet available for purchase. We are planning a limited production run in 2013.
