Randal Koene at the Global Futures 2045 Conference

Our recent post on Ray Kurzweil's talk at the Global Futures 2045 Conference was very popular.

At the same conference, held in Moscow this month, Dr. Randal Koene also presented his ongoing work around uploading a brain or whole brain emulaion in the talk titled, "The engineering challenge to make minds substrate-independent via whole brain emulation within our lifetimes".

Koene is the head of carboncopies, a nonprofit organisation with a goal of creating a networking and outreach community around the central idea of Advancing Substrate Independent Minds (ASIM).
